The Radial DAN™ is a stereo direct box designed to connect instruments, laptops, tablets, or any line level source to a Dante™ Network. Developed by Audinate®, Dante has become the standard for digital audio distribution in professional audio. Using standard Ethernet networks, any connected Dante device can communicate and route audio between each other with very little latency. The DAN-TX/RX provides a simple way to put almost any analog audio source onto the Dante network without the need for a large interface or mixer.
The DAN-TX/RX is equipped with ¼", RCA and 3.5mm inputs. When connecting a single-channel instrument such as a bass or acoustic guitar, an Instrument switch converts one of the ¼" jacks to a "Thru". This allows the player to connect to their amp for local monitoring like a typical DI box. With stereo sources, the selection of inputs provide an easy way to connect any device, whether it be a stereo keyboard or a tablet. The ¼" inputs will accept both balanced (TRS) for professional equipment, and unbalanced (TS) connectors for instruments or consumer gear. Levels can be controlled locally via an input trim pot that offers +/-10dB of control, with an additional -20dB pad that can be utilized when required. The DAN-TX/RX can accept input levels up to +24dBU, and a high pass filter may be enabled to reduce unwanted low frequencies at the source.
The DAN-TX/RX features 24bit/96kHz analog to digital converters for exceptional audio quality. Connecting to the Dante network is easy – simply connect its Ethernet jack to any networked audio system using standard Cat5e or Cat6 cable. The DAN-TX/RX will accept Power over Ethernet (PoE), but a power adapter is included for use when PoE is not available. Once connected, the DAN-TX/RX will appear as a 2-channel transmit device in the Dante Controller software and on other enabled devices on the network. Whether on stage, multi-room recording, or in broadcast, the DAN-TX/RX is the easiest way to get your analog audio onto a Dante network.
RCA INPUTS - Provided for connection to CD/DVD players and other consumer level playback devices. Wired in parallel with the 1/4" and 3.5mm inputs.
TRIM - adjustable trim control to set input levels, with unity gain at 12 o'clock. Provides -10dB of cut or +10dB of gain at the min/max settings.
3.5mm INPUT - Stereo TRS input for use with laptops, tablets and phones. Wired in parallel with the 1/4" and RCA inputs.
ETHERNET - Used to connect to the Dante™ enabled network via CATs or CAT6 cable.
SIG/CLIP LEDs - Will illuminate when input signal is detected. LED color will change to red when clipping is detected.
POWER - 15VDC connection for use with included Radial power adapter when PoE is not available.
+15V LED - Will illuminate when the DAN-TX is connected to the included DC power adapter.
PoE - Will illuminate when the DAN-TX is receiving Power over Ethernet (PoE).
SYNC LED - Red LED illuminates when unit is powered. Green LED illuminates once connected to an Ethernet network. Flashing green LED indicates that the DAN-TX is in slave mode, solid green LED indicates it is in master clock mode.
SYS LED - Red LED illuminates when power is first applied. Switches to green LED once Dante processor becomes active.
POWDER COAT - Durable finish keeps your DAN-TX looking great for years.
MIL-SPEC PCB - Full ground plane for noise-free performance, double sided for durability.
CIRCUIT BOARD - Double-sided military spec for greater durability and full ground plane to reduce radio frequency interference.
14-GAUGE STEEL - I-beam enclosure prevents circuit board from being torqued which could lead to part failure.
PAD - Enables a -18dB input pad for high output line level sources.
LINE/INST - Used to select between line level or instrument level inputs. When set to INST the 1/4" stereo inputs are reconfigured as a mono intsrument input with a thru output.
HPF - Enables a high-pass filter to roll off frequencies below 80Hz.
